Hard working and relentless determination are just two characteristics that can be attributed to Pat Capocci. An artist who has made a name for himself over the past few years, spending every spare moment available to regularly perform at pubs and clubs up and down the east coast of Australia.
As one of the most energetic and entertaining acts in the Rockabilly genre, Pat is renowned across the country for his amazing guitar technique and stage performance.
Pat has performed at major music festivals across the country, including the Wintersun Rock and Roll festival (Coolangatta), Greazefest (Brisbane), Kustom Kulture Festival (Adelaide), Garterbelts and Gasoline (Gold Coast) and the Great Southern Blues and Rockabilly festival (Narooma).
Growing up in the Maitland-Hunter region of New South Wales, Pat spent his early years listening to and being influenced by traditional roots music of yesteryear. At age sixteen Pat became a member of Maitland-Hunter’s very own Johnny Greens Blues Cowboys as well as the Torpedoes, and began performing at local pubs and hotels. A year later he was asked to play the role of Ritchie Valens in the latest Buddy Holly musical. The following year, Pat decided to venture out and form his own band, the now famous Pat Capocci Combo.
Over time Pat has sat in and performed with various bands and artists including Red Rivers, Bruce Mathiske, The Sureshots (UK), Doug Wilshire and the Tailspinners, The Creepers, Big Sandy (USA), Hanks Jalopy Demons, Warren Earl and the Atomic Rockers, The Firedomes, Men Into Space, The Red Hot Poker Dots and is currently the lead guitarist in Danny and the Cosmic Tremors.
Recently signed to Australia’s leading rockabilly and roots label Press-Tone Music International, Pat’s first solo release Steppin’ Out has been hailed by critics for its high energy and diversity, containing all original compositions ranging in style from country, to western swing to hard core 1950’s style rockabilly.
Pat initiated a follow up release comprising a compilation album of Maitland, Hunter and Sydney musicians called Preston Rockabilly Volume 2 – Out Of The Valley. The album features the Pat Capocci Combo, along with Danny And The Cosmic Tremors and former band mate Ezra Lee.
Pat’s unique style and charisma combined with his natural song writing ability provide a performance that is high octane and second to none!
